SMART mare Black ‘N’ Tough has the form on the board to suggest she can be taken one-out in the second leg (race 5) of the quadrella at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart today.

Black ‘N’ Tough is coming off back-to-back wins in open company in Launceston and while she has not been placed at her only two attempts on the Hobart circuit she was not in her present form when she tackled those races.

The Leon Wells-trained mare has won eight and been placed twice from her 13 starts and she has emerged triumphant against stronger company than she meets today.

With a two-kilogram claim for apprentice Rasit Yetimova she will carry 56 kilograms, which is the same weight she carried to victory on a heavy track in Launceston less than two weeks ago.

The danger could be the Mark Everett-trained Hold Onto Your Hat that faced the breeze in the $100,000 Listed Vamos Stakes at her most recent outing and she will find this a much easier assignment.

The David and Scott Brunton-trained pair Sorell Miss and Getitdone would make it interesting if either brought their A-game.

Pengalas Gee Gee will probably lead but he should have the likely favourite parked at his girth for most of the trip putting pressure on and that could be his undoing.
