An exciting week for greyhound racing in the state starts in Launceston on Monday with a 10-race card starting at 19:31.

Tah Rosie appears one of the best bets for the night in race four but punters have keyed on to that as she’s been $2.50 into $1.95.

R1 Kennel Podcast With Brennan & Matt

Race Breakdown: Not a lot of available form to assess in the opening race where we see four first-starters all from the same litter engaged. What we do know is GOOD BOY (3) is a very consistent beginner who has a number of fast, early sections to his credit including a run of 5.05 from a similar draw last week. He recorded 16.60 overall and a similar effort could see him finish in the placings again. MANDY’S SPRITE (1) was slow to begin on debut and railed through around the turn so may improve from a better draw here with a better start. HOME TIME (7) ran a decent race from a wide draw here which seemed to suit her, with a first section of 5.08.

Summary: HOME TIME (7) has opened as the outsider of the race and can finish in the placings based on his recent run from a similar box.

Betting Plan: HOME TIME (7) 1 unit to PLACE.

R2 Simon’s Carpet One

Race Breakdown: FLAMENCO BAROQUE (1) has a smart record from the inside draw and has recorded 16.54 and 16.63 at her two recent starts over the distance. BUCKLE UP AXON (2) produced an improved effort last time out at Devonport and has his best draw since returning from a break last month. SHADY TIGER (4) is first-up from a long break and competed at Invitation class earlier in the year. Her best time of 16.16 was well over a year ago but has claims here if she is somewhere near her best. BEN’S THE BEST (7) crossed over from a similar draw here recently running a solid 16.47 which looks competitive in this field.

Summary: BEN’S THE BEST (7) was a smart winner here recently from a similar draw and may have the pace to cross over again here.

Betting Plan: BEN’S THE BEST (7) 1 unit to WIN.

R3 Kingsley Jarman Fencing

Race Breakdown: SUNBOUND (1) resumes after a fall and is having her first run over the 278m in almost a year after racing well at the middle-distance of late. There doesn’t appear to be a great deal of early speed in the race and she looks suited in this class from the top draw. FAWN MISTAKE (3) has mixed form with his best efforts comparing very well against his competition here. He ran a terrific time of 19.48 at Hobart a few starts back. WINKLEE WIZARD (5) ran a fast, early section here recently from a similar draw and MISS LEXI (8) crossed over from a wide draw with a first split of 5.02 last start. Both runners look capable of finding the front again here.

Summary: WINKLEE WIZARD (5) can show early pace and looks a chance of leading here.

Betting Plan: WINKLEE WIZARD (5) 1 unit to WIN.

R4 Ladbrokes Back Yourself

Race Breakdown: TAH ROSIE (1) has three wins and three placings from her six red box starts including a great second here two starts back in fast time. She backed that up with a terrific run at Hobart in a quality field last start where she ran smart sectionals of 5.11 and 11.20. She looks tough to beat here with a clean start. TRENDING NOW (5) raced on the same night as TAH ROSIE (1) last week and recorded a time around two-lengths slower but has produced much faster efforts in the past. BLACKWOOD BUSTER (6) Has shown good pace at Devonport of late and drops in class in his past few performances.

Summary: TAH ROSIE (1) was excellent here two starts back from the same draw and backed that up with a nice effort in Hobart on Thursday.

Betting Plan: TAH ROSIE (1) 3 units to WIN.

R5 Put Your Quaddies On

Race Breakdown: There doesn’t appear to be much early speed in this event and CHARLIE SPARKLES (4) may be able to hold a more forward position than she has previously on the track. She has tended to race a bit wide through the first turn so may need some room there to show her best. ALL YAP (3) has moderate recent form however she recorded 30.24 from this draw in a good race back in October and drops in class on that effort. RIVER BANK (1) hasn’t had much luck on the Launceston track and has exited box eight at his past two starts here. He ran 30.41 from a similar draw and that compares well here.

Summary: ALL YAP (3) ran a smart race from this draw on the track not long ago and drops in class on that effort.

Betting Plan: ALL YAP (3) 1 unit to WIN.

R6 Crown Lager – Australia’s Best

Race Breakdown: LUCKY JEMMA (1) hasn’t place from her three, red box attempts but may get some room early as ADABELLE (2) is a consistent beginner who can race away from the fence. VICTORIA’S KARA (3) brought up her first Tasmanian win with a smart run of 16.13. On the same night, DEWANA MACCA (4) took out the Invitation race in a time of 16.14. LILY LOLA (7) ran 16.19 from the same draw at the same meeting which gives us a good indication of current form and suggest the race will be a close, keenly contested event. I’M A DOMINATOR (5) started favourite from the inside draw last start over this distance but was outpaced by OVER THE MEASURE (6) who drew outside him and does again here albeit from wider boxes.

Summary: LILY LOLA (7) has proven form from outside draws and may avoid any trouble out wide.

Betting Plan: LILY LOLA (7) 1 unit to WIN.

R7 Furniture City

Race Breakdown: WYNBURN GOLD (1) was slow to begin and had a largely unaffected run to record 30.37 from the same box last start. She ran 30.35 from the red box earlier in the month so we can expect a similar performance which would give her a solid, each-way hope. WINKLEE HUGO (4) was impressive last time out in Devonport running the quickest time of the day. He trialed again on Saturday in a Breeders heat finishing with a good time of 25.91 and he can improve on his Launceston record with a clean start here. ORDON SWORD (7) found trouble last week so can improve and GERSHWIN RYTHYM (8) has raced consistently on the track with times of 30.33 and 30.36 at her last two starts.

Summary: WYNBURN GOLD (1) gets her chance to break through on the track from the top draw after a couple of solid placings.

Betting Plan: WYNBURN GOLD (1) 1 unit to WIN.

R8 Surepick

Race Breakdown: Without a lot of speed in the race, HEADWALL (5) can challenge for the front based on his recent Devonport first sections and a good run of 5.18 at Hobart before that. GO BEZZA (1) has been disappointing after a smart run from this draw in Devonport and can also find the front based on that effort in October. INNER CIRCLE (2) won from an inside draw last start in decent time and may find this field a little easier than most of the ones she’s been facing recently. BUCKLE UP NOAH (3) has a moderate winning record on the track but has a better than 50% place strike rate and his last two runs on the track were smart, with times of 30.22 and 30.30.

Summary: BUCKLE UP NOAH (3) is close to even-money to fill the placings which appears value based on his recent efforts.

Betting Plan: BUCKLE UP NOAH (3) 2 units to PLACE.

R9 Tasracing Early Sectional Speed

Race Breakdown: MAYWYN IRENE (1) has recorded two of her three career wins over the 278m on the track from boxes one and two. Therefore, she looks suited by the draw and drops back to grade 5 class here after competing against some decent opposition. ROCKETTE LEE (5) was outpaced last week when jumping as a short priced favourite and may be better suited draw away from the fence which could allow her some more room and time to work into the race. CHIEF CYRUS (8) ran a smart time last week and handled this draw well before that. LEVI (6) does his best racing from the inside and is still looking for his first win over the trip at start number 17.

Summary: MAYWYN IRENE (1) may get some room at the starts and can finish in the first few from the inside draw.

Betting Plan: MAYWYN IRENE (1) 1 unit to PLACE.

Colin McNiff Top 4: 8-6-1-2

R10 Ladbrokes Same Race Multi

Race Breakdown: NOTORIOUS TIGER (2) drops significantly in class on his recent Devonport efforts and also from his Grade 4 run last time out over the 278m. He has drawn poorly at his past seven race starts and the performance before that was a terrific 25.72 winning run from box two in Devonport. His best run of 16.33 over the distance is also from this draw. WINKLEE GHOST (4) Showed his speed with a run of 26.05 in a Breeders heat at Devonport back in September and had no luck two starts back when he was making good ground before the turn. GEE WHIZ ARCHIE (5) will need to begin well to cross the four and has run quick times over the short in Hobart.

Summary: NOTORIOUS TIGER (2) drops in class and has his best draw for some time.

Betting Plan: NOTORIOUS TIGER (2) 2 units to WIN.
