The 10-race greyhound card in Launceston tonight will test even the most astute punters.

Race seven is an Invitation Stakes for top grade performers and Emerald Lee is resuming from a spell and has been done no favours drawing box eight.

Trainer Debbie Cannan needs to have her at her very best as she meets a field that boasts runners with a lot of racing in their legs and multiple wins.

A big improver is the Terry Ackerley trained Hi Five Marsha which is ideally drawn in box one.

Her recent form is first class so she warrants plenty of respect.

So Emotional trained at Mangalore by Wayne Smith won brilliantly in Hobart (26.10) recently and has a good chance.

Tiny Tilly (Gary Johnson), although beaten at Devonport last week, has hit a purple patch and has great each-way prospects.

Shanlyn Flossy, prepared at Goodwood by veteran mentor Charlie Moate, has got back to somewhere near her best and should go close despite the awkward box draw.

Many of the young up and coming greyhounds are having a let up getting ready for next month’s Derby and Oaks series giving a lot of the lesser lights their chance to shine.

The best bet tonight looks to be Seagull Boy trained at Moorleah by Russell Watts who recently returned from disqualification.

Seagull Boy ran a good race at his only start here. His main danger could be Cheergirl (Eileen Thomas) which won well in Hobart last Thursday.

The value bet on the program looks to be Magic Moss in race nine.

The Alison Walker-trained dog was very heavily supported to win at Devonport last week and has the perfect rails draw again tonight.

However, he will get plenty of pressure from the in-form Shanlyn Johnno that is prepared by Graeme Moate.
