It was another week in Tasmania with a pair of thoroughbred meetings and they each presented different challenges for punters.
Matt Reid starts his review in Launceston on Wednesday night where an indifferent weather forecast made predicting how the track would play a bit of a guessing game. In the end, the Mowbray track missed the worst of the state’s rain and the soft 6 surface held up particularly well.
In Hobart on Sunday the program was lined with small fields and what potentially looked a Scott Brunton/David Pires domination came to fruition as that pair teamed up for half the winners on the eight-race card.
With the return to synthetic racing not far away, Matt takes a look at both Premiership tables with the jockey’s title the likeliest to still be up for grabs.
