Talented trainer-driver Rohan Hillier has a very impressive strike rate when he has his trainers’ hat on and he will have three runners in Devonport on Sunday that he puts the polish on including two in the one race.
Hillier caught up with Duncan Dornauf to record an edition of From the Stables leading into Sunday’s 10-race program.
Race 4 – 7. Itz Montana Jet and 9. Montana Storm
Hillier trains two newcomers to the state which incidentally ran in the same race in New Zealand back in April.
“These two popped up about six weeks ago in the same race actually and they both went good.
“They come in really good order off Barry Purdon and we kept them ticking over and I’d be pretty surprised if barring bad luck they got beat.”
Race replay: Cambridge 15 April, second and third.
Race 5 – 7. Boston Busker
The 4YO gelding comes to the state from New South Wales where he was part-owned by Canberra Raiders captain Jarrod Croker.
“His track work has been nothing short of disgraceful.
“It’s probably not an ideal draw first-up but at least we will get a look at where he is.”
