FORMER Victorian pacer The Majority makes his Tasmanian debut at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart tonight and he brings winning form to the state.
The Majority is prepared by Matthew Dwyer who has enjoyed his share of success with former interstate horses.
The Majority won a three-year-old at Shepparton in early July and followed up with another victory at Bendigo two weeks later and just prior to being sent to Dwyer’s stable he scored impressively over 2100 metres at Charlton with Nathan Jack aboard.
The Art major-Oh Please four-year-old gelding has drawn the outside of the front row in the opening race on the program which is a 3C0-3C1 and 3YO and older combined event over 2090 metres.
The Majority will be driven by James Rattray who has been spending a lot of time interstate of late, mostly in NSW were his father Barrie’s horse Beautide has been winning consistently at Menangle including last night (Saturday).
Metro Digby looms as the main danger but the three-year-old has displayed bad manners at times, including last start when he broke gait and that cost him money but if he stays in his gear as he did two starts back he will be very hard to beat.
Belliciouslips is a class filly but she has drawn gate eight, the inside of the second row.
However, if she finds clear racing room at the business end of proceedings she can win without surprising.
The Tasmanian Pacing Club is hosting a nine-race program tonight with the first at 5.04 pm and the last at 8.56 pm.
