SPREYTON trainer Dean Wells was in two minds about starting his three-year-old gelding Persian early this morning but after taking him for a light workout at 6 am the gelding got the all clear to take his place in the 3YO and upwards maiden over 1150 metres today.
Persian didn’t let him down and while he only won narrowly it was a game effort and connections were pleased with the result.
Persian is owned by Wells and the receivers of BC3 Thoroughbreds that has been liquidated.
Persian had been placed at his previous two starts and Wells was upbeat about the gelding’s future.
