TASMANIA’S best three-year-old fillies will strut their stuff at the TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston tonight on a quest to snare the $30,000 Thousand Guineas over 1600 metres.

The race has assembled the best field possible of he three-year-olds that have raced this season.

At The Weekend has only faced the starter twice for a debut second in a maiden and she then stepped out over 1400 metres and blew her rivals away to suggest she could be special.

The Adam Trinder-trained filly could not have been more impressive when breaking her maiden status and she is reported to have thrived since her win.

Iggimacool has won three this season of which two have been on the Launceston circuit with the latest over 1200 metres.

Top jockey Brendon McCoull has been aboard in all but on outing and he is aboard tonight.

The Bill Ryan-trained filly venture to Hobart for her latest start but when the heavens opened making for a slow track she was unsuited to the conditions yet still finished a game fourth.

Spinning Jenny contested the Tasmanian Guineas against the boys and while she failed to flatter finishing midfield and almost seven lengths from the winner Inner Warrior, she should be more competitive against her own sex and from a good barrier (2) she should be in the firing line for a long way.

Frolicked and Carnelian Crystal loom as the best on the rest. The Thousand Guineas is race six on the card scheduled to start at 9.35 pm.
