Risdon Vale greyhound trainer Robin Stocks celebrated one of his biggest wins when his handy stayer Disney Bound scored a last-stride win in the Mitsubishi Distance medley final over 720 metres at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston tonight.

Disney Bound made her way into the final courtesy of a win in the first round of heats overt 600 metres and followed up with a third behind Posh Will in their heat overt 720 metres.

The top eight point scorers from two rounds of heats made it into the final.

Disney Bound began well from box two but could not match the speed of Hollyheath that began brilliantly from box five and held sway for most of the way.

Side Com chased Hollyheath for the entire journey and looked set to claim the leader turning for home.

But the leader refused to wilt and just when it looked like the David Crosswell-trained bitch would clinch the win Disney Bound lunged and grabbed victory in the very last stride.

It was Disney Bound’s seventh win from 31 starts but she also has notched 11 minor placings along the way making her one of the most consistent chasers going around in Tasmania, especially over the middle land longer distances.
