RISING star greyhound Kool Puppy kept his unbeaten record in Tasmania intact when he led throughout to win a grade five event over 452 metres at Devonport today.

It was Kool Puppy’s third start in the state for talented trainer Brendan Pursell and his first look at the Devonport track.

Kool Puppy stopped the clock at 25.69s which was a handy effort at his first try on the track but it came as no surprise given the tomes he clocked in Hobart at his first two attempts in the state.

He recorded a time of 26.17 at his first start in the state in a grade five in Hobart on July 24 but at his next outing on that track he sizzled over the 461 metres in a slick 25.87 a week later in a grade four.

Pursell, owned in Victoria by Paul Galea, says the pup is one of the most exciting sprinters he has had through his kennels.
