AFTER an impressive win in the Run To The Rose in Sydney on Saturday, Hallowed Crown has been installed as $4.60 favourite for the Million Dollar, Group 1 Golden Rose ahead of Bring Me The Maid at $6.00
From a Tasmanian perspective it was a boon for Armidale Stud that stands Needs Further (Encosta de Lago), a half-brother to Hallowed Crown which is the seventh foal of the high-class Danehill mare Crowned Glory the winner of the Group III VRC Bloodhorse Breeders Stakes and second to Belle du Jour in the Group 1 Golden Slipper.
With the Run to the Rose boasting a winning roster of Pierro, Smart Missle, Squamosa and Denman and with horses such as Your Song, Foxwedge, Epaulette and Helmet filling minor placings, it’s no wonder Armidale is excited about the boost to Needs Further’s already strong pedigree.
