LIGHTLY raced four-year-old Pisa Work sounded a warning that he could possess star qualities with an effortless maiden win at his first start this campaign.

The Kelvin Hamilton-trained four-year-old raced outside of the leader Lancashire in a 3YO and Upward Maiden Plate over 1150 metres on the Tapeta synthetic at Spreyton today but he made light of the task.

Having his first start since early February the Danzero gelding travelled comfortably to the home turn and top jockey Brendon McCoull called on the gelding for the big effort in the home straight he quickly put two lengths on the field.

Pisa Work left his rivals in his wake as he forged to an effortless win over Made of Stars and Frinja that flashed home late.

It was an impressive effort and one that put a smile on the trainer’s face.

Listen to what trainer Kelvin Hamilton had to say about Pisa Work’s excellent first-up win.
