TRAINER Gary White is considering a few options for his promising stayer Barysh Quest that is campaigning in Victoria.
“Barysh Quest is nominated for the Cranbourne Cup (2025m) this Sunday but we also are looking at two races at Caulfield next week (October 17) – a 0-82 handicap over 2000m and a 0-89 race over 1600m,” White said.
“If we decide to tackle the Cranbourne Cup, Craig Williams is likely to ride him but we are no guarantee to get in the race on ballot (33),” he said.
“Craig (Williams) also could be available if we go to the 0-89 over 1600m next Wednesday,” he said.
Barysh Quest was voted last season’s top Tasmanian three-year-old after winning the Hobart Guineas and placing second in the Tasmanian Derby.
All of the four-year-old’s runs this preparation have been in Melbourne where he is being prepared for the 2013 AAMI Hobart and Launceston Cups.
“I’d say he would have two more starts in Victoria before we bring him back home to prepare for the Cups,” White said.
