THERE are a number of reasons why the Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sale is regarded as one of the best value sales in Australia.
Horses such as Lady Lynette and Banca Mo are graduates of the sale with Lady Lynette (2006 sale) being sold for only $13,000 yet returned to her owners just over $1 million in prize money.
Banca Mo (2009 sale) has just resumed racing from injury and he has already amassed 11 wins and eight placings from only 27 starts for $475,000.
Horses offered at the Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sales have continued to perform well on the national stage.
The latest to shine is Magnus Lad that made it three wins in succession when he claimed the $50,000 7news Ron Casey Memorial (1200m) at Mornington on Sunday.
The talented four-year-old was too strong on the line, keeping It’s A Shame Billy to a length, with Single Days a further neck away in third.
The 4YO gelding by Magnus from the mare Charlann was a graduate of the 2012 Tasmanian Magic Millions sale and was knocked down to Magic Millions as agent for $6,000.
He was offered at the sake by his breeder Grenville Stud, owned and operated by Tasmanian Hall of Fame inductee Graeme McCulloch.
The Wez Hunter trained gelding has had nine starts for four wins and $91,000 in stakes.
