FORMER star jumps jockey Adam Trinder has enjoyed his share of success in his first full season as a trainer in Tasmania and he believes the best is yet to come Trinder closeted his jumps riding gear in late 2010 and headed back to Tasmania from Victoria to establish his own training set-up at Spreyton. He had stints of riding overseas and represented Australia in a number of jumps series but he felt there was no more to prove as a rider so he retired at the tender age of 30. When he returned to Tasmania he worked alongside his father Michael Trinder but it wasn’t long before he had his own list of clients and was looking for stables to populate. The 2011-12 season concluded two weeks ago and Trinder emerged with 20 winners and 27 minor placegetters from 137 runners for a strike rate of 14.6%. He finished seventh on the trainer’s premiership table and he regarded that as a very acceptable result. He is confident that he and his life partner Leah Goodrick can carve a living from the industry.
