THE Scott Brunton stable has been gearing up for what could be its best ever Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival and at Tattersall’s Park today a couple of the stable stars get their chance to shine.
Follow My Dust will tackle the $100,000 Listed Hobart Guineas while Banca Mo will strut his stuff in the $50,000 weight-for-age Summer Cup over 2200m.
Follow My Dust is a progressive three-year-old that scored a maiden win two starts back before finishing a fast-finishing third to Admiral in the Tasmanian Guineas over 1600m.
It was an encouraging effort and one that definitely caught the eye from a Derby perspective.
It is an open race with many chances but if Follow My Dust is a genuine Derby prospect then he should deliver the goods.
Banca Mo has been working up to a win and gets his chance to sound a warning to all and sundry that he is right on track for a tilt at the Tattsbet Cups Double bonus of $100,000 that is the prize for any horse that can win the Betfair Hobart Cup and Betfair Launceston Cup in the same season of which half goes to the trainer and half to the owner.
WATCH: In this episode of Carnival Contenders, Peter Staples speaks with Follow My Dust’s trainer Scott Brunton. He’ll race in this Sunday’s $100,000 Hobart Guineas (3YO) over 21,000 metres.
