ELITE ENFIELD proved again why he is one of Tasmania’s most underrated greyhounds with another courageous win in an invitation event over 461 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last night (Thursday). The Graeme Barber-trained dog began well from box five to trail the leader That Was Then to the home turn but when the big effort was required to get the main result the son of Knocka Norris dug deep and ground out another impressive win.

He hit the line with almost a length to spare over That Was Then with Underclass Hero a closing third along the rails.

Elite Enfield has won 10 from 30 starts with as many minor placings for closing in on $20,000 in stakes so he has certainly paid his way for his owner-trainer.

He has won on all Tasmanian tracks and is one of four from the litter to win multiple races.

The litter siblings to race have all performed well with Susie’s Sister having won four and placed eight times so far from 34 starts and Knox And Rattles has notched four wins and five minor placings from 27 starts.

The remaining litter brother Archie Ninkasi has won six times from 13 outings without a minor placing.
