LIGHTLY raced four-year-old pacer Fletchers Knight delivered a message at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last night that delighted his trainer Zeke Slater.
Despite having his first start for six months Fletchers Knight showed brilliant early speed to lead in the Ranvet Pace over 2090 metres and then had plenty in reserve at the business end of the race to go on and score by over 15 metres from Playstationking and Joe Cable.
Fletchers Knight was prepared by Slater last preparation and he won one race with the gelded son of Safe and Sound but after the horse’s form waned the owners Paul and Meagan Carlson from Rowella took the horse back to their property for a lengthy spell.
The gelding ended his three-year-old campaign with a win and a minor placing from nine starts.
It was an impressive first-up effort and one that pleased Slater.
