EXCITING pup Keune kept her unbeaten record intact at UBET Park Hobart last night (Thursday) with another impressive performance.
Keune was having her third start and while she wasn’t able to lead she had the race in her keeping when she slipped into another gear to hit the front turning for home.
The Ted Medhurst-trained bitch powered home to score by almost six lengths from Next Matador with Howzat Patsy a close-up third.
Keune (pronounced Kew-nay) has been awesome at all three starts with her 13-length win on debut in Hobart in a time of 25.94. One of the best efforts by a juvenile on the track this year.
She took that form to Devonport at her next start and posted a slick 25.34 over the 452-metre trip.
“Keune is a very talented young pup that has all the attributes that only good ones possess,” Medhurst said.
“There’s no big plans for her, just take her gradually through the grades.”
“She is doing everything we ask of her at the moment but we have to remember they are racing animals and it doesn’t pay to get too far ahead of yourself,” he said.
Medhurst’s racing partner Debbie Cannan bought four from the litter (Barcia Bale-Miss Roman Nose) and last night two others from the litter also scored impressive wins.
Local View notch his first win at start number four in a juvenile over 461 metres scoring by 6-1/2 lengths in a time of 26.10.
And in a strong grade five event over the same distance Miss Stylist scored by almost four lengths and clocked the same time as her litter brother.
