Harness racing returns to Devonport next Monday night where an eight event program will be decided. A feature of the meeting is the third and fourth heats of the Bullock Consulting Youngbloods Series. The third heat should go to the Lindsay Tatnell trained Tiz A Jamane, who is resuming from a spell. This three year old gelding has only had seven previous starts for two wins and three placings, his only start this season was a fourth to the classy Four Ex Dan at Hobart in March.
The fourth heat for C1 and C2 pacers has attracted a capacity field of ten, the race looks a match between the Barry Corkery trained Kamili a winner two starts back, and the John Castles trained Chirac, who has finished second at his last two starts in the heat and final of the $30,000 Raider Stakes. Although well beaten by Resurgent Spirit in the final, he easily accounted for the rest of the field.
The Tasracing Mobile for C4 and 5 pacers has only attracted a field of six but contains some well-performed pacers. Robyn Scherbotsky has won eight races and from the pole will take some beating. She will be driven by her trainer Troy Hillier. Neonjet is going for the hat trick after a string of seconds for trainer Melissa Maine, and will be driven by the state leading reinsman Garath Rattray. Other recent winners in the field are He’s Magic Red, Poker Storm (Westbury Cup) and Deliverthegoods.
