TRAINER Scott Brunton has the opportunity to cement his place at the top of the trainer’s premiership at UBET Park Hobart on Sunday.
Brunton holds a four-win lead over Adam Trinder and John Blacker with three meetings of the 2014-15 season remaining (click here for trainer’s premiership standings).
Blacker has been closing in with doubles and trebles at recent meetings but on Sunday Brunton has entered a few of his specialist wet trackers giving him genuine winning chances in at least five of the eight races.
Brunton will present a first starter to the state in race one in Extended Warranty that has had only five starts and finished no further back that fourth that includes two thirds and a fourth at Sandown.
The gelding’s dangers in that race look to be stablemate Hirvonen, Paleface Presto and first starter Noblecourt that trialled well in Hobart recently.

Brunton’s other prime winning chances are Aquila Reale in race two; Am I There Yet and Cherry Dancer in race four; Midnight Tears and Debauche in race six and Tiger Jack and Up Cups in race eight.
