The Ted Medhurst-trained Local View (Barcia Bale-Miss Roman Nose) made amends for his second in a division two JG Nelson Cup heat to Howzat Patsy by beginning brilliantly from box five to share the lead with heat winner Mavista Falls I(7).
The pair matched motors to the home turn but it was Local View that proved the strongest at the business end of the race.
He forged clear in the home straight to win comfortably from Mavista Falls with Hellyeah Evan working home nicely to grab third ahead of Regrette Rien.
Local View has won six of his 13 starts and he has an impressive record of three from four on the Launceston circuit.
Medhurst’s luck however was not so good in the division four final for juveniles with his star youngster Keune copping a bad check soon after the start that resulted in her being shunted back to last and she never recovered.
