ONE of Tasmania’s most popular racehorses Spy Wears Prado has been sold and is expected to continue his racing career in Queensland.
Spy Wears Prado delivered a great performance at UBET Park Hobart yesterday to end his racing career in this state with a victory in the Gee Gee Horse Stud BM82 Handicap over 1600 metres.
With apprentice Mehmet Ulucinar aboard Spy Wears Prado powered home to defeat Up Cups and Perplexing.
The Dianne Ray-Luttrell-trained gelding was having his 47th start with this latest win his 11th and he also has amassed 15 minor placings for $143,000 in stakes.
Spy Wears Prado is owned by David Cochrane who bred the gelding that is by El Maggiore from the Personal Hope mare Personal Spy.
A former Tasmanian property developer Lindsay Schneider, who how resides in Queensland, has purchased most of the thoroughbreds at Cochrane’s Bowthorpe Stud at Longford.
