TALENTED pacer Devendra took a while to find his best form after a lengthy spell but his past two efforts would suggest the former Devonport Cup winner can win at UBET Park Hobart tonight.
Devendra will start from outside the front row in an open free-for-all (race five) over 2090 metres but his good early gate speed should enable driver Todd Rattray to find a spot in the one-out line with cover.
If that eventuates then the Barrie Rattray-trained gelding will be the testing material for this field.
The Christian Salter-trained Vande Velde looms as the main danger from gate two as he has good early speed and should be able to hold the front, although last-start standing start winner Comply or Die also begins well and is likely to test for the lead from barrier three.
Motu Crusader is clearly the most experienced in the field of nine but his past three efforts have been below par and would have to turn that form around to emerge triumphant.
Each-way chance also must be given to All I Can Be and the pole marker Dodgermemate.
