WHEN Purrsnickity first came to Adam Trinder’s stable last month there were hopes the mare could find form and win a race or two.
After a first-up minor placing at Spreyton two weeks ago she made amends with a decisive victory in a maiden plate over 1150 metres with talented apprentice Siggy Carr in the saddle.
Purrsnickity showed good early speed but Carr was content to let the five-year-old race outside of the leader Chelsarli to the home turn.
When Carr released the reins the mare kicked clear and then held out a strong and determined challenge from Etown.
Purrsnickity hit the line with almost a half-length to spare over Etown with the well backed Quirribilly Lodge 1-1/2 lengths away third.
