TALENTED greyhound Keune expanded her winning sequence at Devonport today with an emphatic win in a heat of the popular Minister’s Gift series over 452 metres.
Keune began well from box two and once on the lure she gave nothing else a chance and careered away from her rivals to score comfortably from Lochnane Bill and Joffa’s Me Mate.
The Ted Medhurst-trained bitch has notched five wins in succession and she would only need to hold her present form to keep winning.
Medhurst also prepared Local View to win his heat and he did it in style by flying the lids from box three and gave nothing else a chance as he sped clear of Lyncar Jerry and Arctic Posh to win convincingly.
The third heat was taken out by the Katrina Gregory-trained Lochnane Abby that led throughout from box two and the well-bred Carrick Marlow from the Leslie Barker kennel delivered a stellar performance to win his heat from Winklea Zipper and Lochnane Eve.
Medhurst snared the final heat with Miss Stylist that regained top form to outgun the odds-on favourite Tecoma Emily in what was one of the runs of the day.
The second round of heats will be run in Hobart on Thursday week (October 15) with the final made up of the to eight point scorers from the two rounds of heats to be run in Launceston over 515 metres.
