LIGHTLY raced mare Magnacash looms as the best bet on the eight-event card at UBET Racing Centre in Launceston tonight.
Magnacash will line up in race two which is a fillies and mares’ maiden over 1200m.
The Brendan McShane-trained mare was an encouraging second in Launceston three weeks ago at what was her first start in almost a year.
The four-year-old was allowed to mature and she has furnished well during her spell.
At her first outing she settled well back from a wide barrier draw but worked into the race nicely from the 600-metre peg and continued to run on to finish about two lengths from the winner Cameo Kiss.
With that run under her belt and with the aid of an inside barrier (2) her rider Bulent Muhcu should be able to have her more forward and if that eventuates she should be guaranteed a cosy run and be too good for her rivals.
The John Blacker-trained Commanding Cash was the medium of a decent plunge at her first start in the state three weeks ago in the same race in which Magnacash finished second.
Blacker expects her to improve with some gear changes but again she has drawn a wide gate.
Shutterfly from the Royston Carr stable produced an eye-catching effort in the same race to finish fourth and only a length behind Magnacash, so she should make her presence felt at the business end of proceedings.
