We head up to the North West Coast to the scenic township of Burnie in where we will see their Cup run this weekend. Last week’s Scottsdale meeting was a huge success where there was a huge crowd on track to witness Major Callum take out the their Cup.

RACE 1 : 6:04pm DOWLING MCCARTHY PACE 2180M
This is the first of a good night’s racing. RIVERLEGIRL (4) has been racing OK in slightly tougher company. She draws a little wide but if she can slot in handy will take plenty of holding out. ROBYN JOY (6) has been freshened up since a disappointing run. She has showed ability in her brief career so can run a race. HEY JO (2) will find this much easier than first run in the state. He has drawn well so if he can find the top will give a great sight. NETHERBY ROAD (3) has showed gate speed in the past so don’t be surprised if they have a crack at finding the top and if does will run a race at odds. DEBIT CARD (10) was much better last week so can run into a place at odds. GEORGIASGRIN (5) , GEORGIA MAYHEM (7) and TIZ A SHAKER (9) are next best.

RACE 2 : 6:42pm SOMERSET HOTEL THORATE INCENTIVE 2180M
This is a very tough race to kick off the UBET quadrella. ITZ GEMMAS DELIGHT (3) will strip fitter for her first up run when beaten in a tight finish. She draws well so with a safe beginning is the hardest to beat. CANHOLDAGRUDGE (1) was very good last week after being slow away. She will be hoping to step to the lead and will give a sight. MAYBE CHARLI (6) did run some handy races as a two year old. She did win a trial on Monday night so has to be kept safe here. BALDOCK (9) was very good at Scottsdale when came from a long way back. He will need a similar trip but is a danger. GOGGO GEE GEE (10) stood flat footed and swung the other way last week so forget he went around. He is off the 10m but if he begins safely he will finishing strongly. JUDYS JET (2) and ANOTHER APPROVAL (7) who is first up in the state are next best.

RACE 3 : 7:17pm GOWANS MOTOR GROUP STAKES DIVISION ONE 2180M
This is another tough affair. UNION FORCE (10) was a very impressive winner here last time he raced on the track. He has drawn out the back so he will look to get going at the 1000m mark which will give him his chance. MAJORAMA (8) has been racing very well and this is a suitable race so has to be kept very safe. SHEER IMPACT (5) was a good winner last start although in very slow time. Now that he has broken through can go back to back. Stablemates REALLY FIESTY (6) and RUBY DAWN (7) are both going OK so can win with the right trips. SWEET KISSES (9) is very well placed here and is sure to be put into the race so is a huge danger. JOHN PRESTON (1) and UDONTGETME (3) are next best. FREELANDER (4) is an emergency but if gains a run will be right in the market.

RACE 4 : 7:47pm HELLYERS ROAD DISTILLERY PACE 2180M
This is an open C1 or better stand. WEALTHY WARRIOR (3) never really got a crack at them last week. He has been racing ok and looks a good e/w gamble here. BARAGOOLA (10) was very impressive last start when sprinted from midfield. He will be hoping to be close to repeat the dose here so is a huge danger. WHO IS HARDEEN (5) has been very consistent of late so with a safe beginning will be in the finish. ROCKBANK DANCER (8) is nearing another win after his last two runs so if gets the right trip will take holding out. BAD BOY HUGHIE (6) had every chance last week but will find this slightly easier so is a must include. MASTER CHARLIE (1) and BAROOZA (7) both broke through for their first wins last week but place looks best here.
TOP PICK : WEALTHY WARRIOR (3) is a good e/w gamble.

RACE 5 : 8:17pm RADIO 7BU BURNIE CUP 2789M
This is sure to be a great edition of the Burnie Cup. HAPPY SCHNAPPS (4) has been low flying of late and is well placed here with the claim for young Taylor Ford who is driving in great fashion. She will be hoping to get him to ping away safely and if he happened to lob on top it will be his race to lose but he can still win if has to sit parked. KARALTA DAZZLER (3) usually fly’s the tapes so look’s the early leader and will more than likely hold it around here so will give a great sight. BRAVO CHARLIE (1) is racing well but is hit and miss from the tapes but if he pings away is a great e/w gamble. SOO SPECIAL (2) is a tough mare who has a chance at odds with the right trip. LAST GUY STANDING (7) has been ticking over well for this so if can settle handy he is sure to take holding out. CHIEF DESTROYER (8) was an impressive trial winner Monday night so has to be kept safe at odds. NEONJET (6) , JOHHNYART (9) , PUSHKIN (10) and LE PREMIERE (11) are all capable of sneaking a place at odds.

RACE 6 : 8:52pm BRYAN GREEN MOBILE DIVISION TWO 2180M
This is another tricky affair. GOTTALOVEFRIDAYS (9) has been racing below his best but does get into a very winnable race. He has drawn out the back but if can get into the race at some stage will take holding out. UPWARDLY (3) was good two starts back and will find this easier than last start. He has drawn well so if lobs in the first two will give a great sight. BUDDY AULINN (1) draws the pole so will be hoping to hold up and can run a place. PLACE OF GOLD (6) was OK at Scottsdale last week despite finishing at the rear of the field. He has drawn to get a cheap run so is one at odds that can surprise. BILLY KHAN (10) does race well around here so if he can get into the race at all is a sneaky chance at odds. SWEET KISSES (8) is the emergency who if gains a start will go around as favourite and looks hard to beat. SMILETURNER (2) does race best when finds the top so if finds it here is a must include.

This is a good CO or better stand. YOUNG BRUISER (2) will be hoping to ping away from tapes and if happened to find the top will take plenty of running down. MAGIC DEAL (1) has good manners from the tapes so from the pole has to be kept very safe. Stable mates BUMBLE DON (6) and NEXT SOUND (7) are both going ok and look well suited here so are good winning hopes. LAUGHYAHEADOFF (9) is a bit of a track specialist but has to overcome the 20m back mark. She does begin quickly so if they are slow up front she can get into a winning position. FLYLIKA HAWK (8) is another that is well placed so keep very safe. MONARCO PLAYBOY (10) will be hoping to get a cart into the race and if does will run home well so is a must include. BE GOOD FRANKLIN (4) is next best.

This is the last of the night. PUNT ROAD DISCO (8) is the emergency for the cup so has to be the one to beat here. He begins slow but safely so as long as close enough will take plenty of beating. BERTILS DELIGHT (6) is a handy mare that is racing well so from the 10m mark will give a great sight. SUTTER MAN (5) was a good winner at Scottsdale so despite this being harder has to be kept safe. STRANGE CONDUCT (7) is hit and miss but if he produces his best can surprise at odds. IDEAL DISTRACTION (2) forget he went around first up. She does have a bit of ability so if steps safely will be thereabouts. BYMARJAC (3) has been racing ok and draws to be handy throughout so is a must include. LIKE IT IS (1) and COMEON HOWZAT (4) are next best.
