PROMISING mare Fairy Feet produced the best performance of her career to win a benchmark 68 handicap over 1600 metres at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston last night (Wednesday).

Fairy Feet went into the race on the back of two impressive wins but this was clearly her toughest assignment since arriving from Victoria late last year.

With in-form apprentice Rasit Yetimova in the saddle Fairy Feet settled better than midfield from her wide barrier and when the rider asked for an effort 500m from home she rounded up the leaders and forged clear at the top of the home straight.

Under strong riding the Gary White-trained mare dug deep when the challengers arrived and went on to score by just under a length from Can Get Thirsty with outsider Rezoning only a half-head astern and hard-up on he inside running rail.

Fairy Feet is owned and raced by Geoff and Angela Barrett, Andrew “Dasher” Eaton and former star AFL footballer Leigh McConnon.
