TALENTED Victorian mare I Love It is one of a record 23 nominations for the $125,000 Group 3 Bow Mistress Stakes for fillies and mares to be run at UBET Park Hobart next Friday.
I Love It scored an emphatic win in the race last year and her trainer John Salanitri confirmed the mare will be back to defend her crown.
“I trialled I Love It at Caulfield on Wednesday and she went super so everything is on track for her to try and make it back-to-back wins in the Bow Mistress,” Salanitri said.
“She is booked on the boat next Tuesday night and she will be stabled with David Brunton,” he said.
Salanitri also confirmed the mare would more than likely stay in Tasmania after the Bow Mistress to tackle the $125,000 Group 3 Vamos Stakes over 1400m in Launceston on February 21.
Nominations for the meeting were declared today and there were only 10 three-year-olds nominated to contest the $100,000 Listed Tasmanian Derby of which half are from interstate.
