PROMISING gelding Bidirectional made it back-to-back wins when he delivered an effortless all-the-way win in a maiden/class one over 1600 metres at the UBET Racing Centre in Launceston today.
The Adam Trinder-trained four-year-old won a maiden-class one on Hobart Cup day but despite tackling the same class and opposition he was sent around at the luxurious price of $4.80.
With talented rider Siggy Carr aboard the gelded son of West Quest made light of an outside barrier (19) to cross the field and lead comfortably.
He had a length to spare turning for home but when Carr called on him for the supreme effort he slipped into overdrive and we4nt on to score comfortably from Beaudion ($13) with the heavily backed favourite Leigh John ($3.80) third.
“At one stage I was going to give up on this horse but my partner Leah Goodrick convinced me to keep him going and now I’m ever so glad we did,” Trinder said.
Leah was thrilled with the win and admitted the gelding is one of her favourite horses at the stable.
“I really like this horse and I am ever so glad Adam kept him going,” Goodrick said.
Bidirectional could have his next start in a BM62 handicap over 2100m in Hobart on Sunday week.
