ABOUT 18 months ago former star jumps jockey turned trainer Brett Scott purchased Schockemohle in New Zealand with the prospects of aiming him at a jumping career.
So far that plan has not eventuated and today the seven-year-old grey gelding will line up in the $200,000 Group 3 Betfair Exchange Launceston Cup with the hope of winning only his second race since making the trip across the Tasman.
Schockemohle hasn’t won since November 2014 but his recent form would suggest the gelded son of Sophie Ro will make his presence felt at the business end of proceedings.
