Tasmanian bred four-year-old Patricks Faith made an impressive debut at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston tonight scoring a runaway win in the J Boag & Son Pace over 2200 metres.
With his owner-breeder-trainer Geoff Madden in the cart, Patricks Faith enjoyed a cushy run in the one-out-one-back position on the back of the well backed Safina Leis.
When Safina leis dropped off when the leaders sprinted 400 metres out, Patricks Faith was left flat-footed but when Madden got him to the outside in the home straight he dug deep and cruised past the leaders.
He went on to score full of running by over four metres from race leader Cindy’s Babe with the favourite Im Shouting a neck astern.
Madden was thrilled with the win and understandably so given he owns the mare and bred the sire.
Patricks Faith is by Patrick Paige that performed well in the race track winning 120 of his 69 starts as well as notching 18 minor placings for career stakes of $45,000 with a best rate of two minutes.
Patricks Faith’s dam Cleo Paige was an unraced mare bred by the Leis family who bred her from their star broodmare Pete Paige that produced stars Zyuganov Leis that won 31 and placed 20 times from 86 starts for almost $330,000 in stakes from 1996-2002.
Patricks Faith is owned and raced by Geoff Madden and his son Troy.
