STAR Tasmanian apprentice Raquel Clark stole the show at the UBET Racing Centre in Launceston last night with a riding treble.

Clark owned the back half of the program and began her haul with an outstanding ride aboard the Graeme McCulloch-trained mare Songs ‘N’ Stories in the R J Foot Memorial Maiden over 1400 metres.

The mare settled behind the leaders and when Clark eased her three-wide to challenge she moved to the leaders but had to dig deep over the concluding stages to run down What An Option that kicked clear 100 metres out.

It was a similar story with the John Blacker-trained Seajamm who bounded clear after being given a gun run by Clark and she held on to defeat the fast-finishing Cameo Kiss that came from last on the turn.

Clark ended the night with a winner aboard the Adam Trinder-trained Bonbeach that won courtesy of a smart ride from the apprentice.

The leader Christopher Mac was taken to the centre of the track in search of the best ground by top rider Brendon McCoull and most of the others followed.

But Clark seized the opportunity to send her filly through the gap along the rails and the three-year-old powered to the lead and went on to win comfortably from Chill Winston and Christopher Mac.

Clarke’s treble sent her to the top of the premiership table with 39 wins and two clear of Brendon McCoull with Siggy Carr third on 35.
