PROMISING three-year-old filly Rialto Miss ended her first preparation on a winning note when she scored a courageous victory in the opening race on the 10-event card at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart today.

The David and Scott Brunton-trained filly came from well back in the fields to overhaul race leader Gee Gee Cry Baby in the shadows of the post with Date And Sign a closing third along with the luckless Knots Sister.

Rialto Miss was having only her second start and was following up from an eye-catching debut second on January 22.

She was dropping back in distance from 1200m to 1100m but thanks to a heady ride from Anthony Darmanin she was able to pick the leader up over the closing stages to score by a long neck.

Co-trainer Scott Brinton was full of praise for the filly and predicts a bright future for the daughter of Savoire Vivre-Always Slick.
