If the Greyhound Industry had an award for most improved in 2011 then Penny’s Angel would certainly have won it and tonight at Tattersall’s Park this seasoned Collide dog will start odds on in the Invitation (R6).

A litter brother to Hobart Thousand Finalist Clyde’s Angel and smart interstate performer Miss Roman Nose, he has now had 33 starts for 11 wins and 14 placings.

His last six runs on the track have resulted in four wins and two placings and although up against top line performers in Centennial Bark and Mojito he should fly the lids and continue on his winning way.

Destine to Dream (R8) for Moorleah trainer Russell Watts looks to have a great chance from box three to notch up a winning double.

Although her form on this track of late has been patchy her last start win at Devonport was first class.

Her main opposition should come from the Sandra Elphinstone trained Posh Will and Len Howard’s Spendles.

Hobby trainer Rod Campbell has been on a winning streak of late and both his runners Mr Taxman (R9) and Jonny Ringer (R10) look solid chances again.

Best Bets: R7 No 7 Penny’s Angel, R8 No 3 Destine to Dream, R9 No 2 Mr. Taxman.

Best E/W: R2 No 2 Sooty Blue, R5 No 8 Shanlyn Charlie, R6 No 4 Emergence.

Meanwhile, Tasracing has investigated and identified the problems being encountered with the conductor rail at Devonport and remedial work is continuing.

It is expected that the remedial work and testing will be completed by early next week to enable trialing sessions to be conducted before the Cup heats on 10 January 2011.

To assist participants, an additional trialing session has been scheduled at Launceston on Saturday morning 31 December 2011 commencing at 9am at a cost of $4 per greyhound.
