ONE of the state’s best senior riders Michael Guthrie will make his long awaited return to riding next Sunday.
Guthrie has chosen the opening day on the new synthetic track at Spreyton Park for his return to race riding.
He expects to have up to four rides at the meeting that will be held on the new track laid by Tapeta Footings that is already being touted as the best synthetic surface in the world.
Official trials will be held on the track on Tuesday and all will then be readied for opening day.
Guthrie said he has a few rides pencilled in for Spreyton trainer Mark Ganderton.
