AUSTRALIAN Cup winning trainer Debbie Cannan took only three dogs to last Thursday night’s Hobart meeting and emerged with two wins and a second.
Learoyd Lahrs scored an impressive win in a grade four over 461 metres and her lightly raced bitch Innisfree Miss won the mixed grades 3-4 over 461 metes.
Mr Pricklepants was second and filled the quinella behind Innisfree Miss.
Learoyd Lahrs began his racing career is New South Wales winning at Bulli at his third outing in December last year.
But when his form waned, owner Ian Sowell opted to send him to Cannan in January and she had almost immediate success.
He was second at his first start in the state behind the highly promising Bergemeister but he won at his subsequent start defeating Rattle Gun in Hobart leading all the way and in a time of 26.09s which was one of the best runs of the night.
He has missed a place only once in eight starts for Cannan.
