THE fashion, the frivolity, the thunder of hooves and now, some of Australia’s best live music is in store for the 2018 Sky Racing Hobart Cup on Sunday the 11th February.

Complementing all the action on track at Hobart Racecourse, this year racegoers will also have the opportunity to see Australian folk-pop favourite The Rubens and Tassie native ASTA perform live on the main stage for the general admin ticket cost of just $20 ($25 at the gate).

The Tasmanian Racing Club has partnered with Tasracing and sponsor Wrest Point to present this exciting line up of performances by both The Rubens and ASTA on the Public Stage. ASTA will also perform an intimate set for Stella Artois Young Racing Tasmania marquee guests.

Premium trackside precinct ‘The Lawn’ features the perfect space for guests to enjoy the high-quality horse racing and entertainment on offer.

Patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic rug and fold-up chair to enjoy the offerings available on the day including gourmet picnic hampers that can be pre-purchased from the TRC (containing seafood, fruit, olives, cold meats an array of cheeses, crackers and dips plus Schwepps Agrum) cocktail central, a cocktail bar offering a selection of your favourite cocktails, the Bonamy’s Cider Bar and the Fat Yak food paddock featuring popular Hobart food vans.

Post-event, the fun continues with an official after-party at Regines, Wrest Point Casino, with a free shuttle bus service.

Hobart entrepreneur Holly Bowden and former star Tasmanian galloper and two-time Hobart Cup winner Geegees Blackflash have been crowned Ambassadors of the Hobart Cup Carnival that will be run over three days.

Bowden will be providing commentary on Tasracing TV that will be shown via a big screen throughout the day.

CEO of the TRC Shayne Stevenson is focused on developing and refining the event for ticket holders.

“The Derby Day/Hobart Cup Day weekend is the biggest weekend of the year for the Tasmanian Racing Club.”

“The club has received great support this year from Tasracing and Wrest Point to together deliver a fantastic entertainment experience, with an excellent range of food and beverage facilities and a great schedule of live entertainment in general admission”, said Stevenson.

Gates to the racecourse open at 10:00am and the day will conclude at 7:30pm. General admission tickets are available for $20 online ($25 at the gate) and include access to performances by The Rubens and ASTA.
