P Victorian driver-trainer Gavin Lang has confirmed his star mare Deanna Troy will be back in Tasmania to defend her George Johnson title that she earned last season.
Deanna Troy will tune up for her Tassie assault in a race in Victoria in a fortnight before making the trip across Bass Strait to line up in the best mares’ race in Tasmania.
The George Johnson also is considered as one of the top three mares’ events on the national calendar so the opposition should be hot.
Deanna Troy is in foal to champion US stallion Somebeachsomewhere that won 20 from 21 and set a world mile rate record – click here to find out more about Somebeachsomewhere.
Lang also is likely to bring his promising free-for-aller Sammy Maguire for the Devonport Quality and City of Launceston Cup and depending on how he measures up he could progress to the Group 1 Tasmania Cup that is the jewel in the crown of the V75 Tasmanian Harness Carnival.
