JAMES RATTRAY has just returned from a four-month stint in the USA with plans to return on a more permanent basis.
He is a highly respected young reinsman who has a long list of personal achievements to his credit including a win in the Australasian Young Driver’s Championship in New Zealand.
He hails from the Barrie and Denise Rattray family who have produced four sons who have all made an impact on the Tasmanian harness scene with James’ twin brother Gareth the most highly decorated, having represented Australia at last year’s World Driver’s Championships in Norway.
His younger brothers Adam and Todd also do well in the sulky.
James, 24, has longed to carve a career in the US and now he has secured his licence to drive in that country he is eagerly planning his return in January next year for what could be a very permanent move.
“I have had a great time over there for four months. It’s been a great learning curve and a real eye-opener,” Rattray said.
