LIGHTLY raced four-year-old pacer High Bromac Badlands Hanover-Hot Rosie) has been racing in great form this season but his latest performance was arguably his best this preparation.

At Tattersall’s Park in Hobart on Monday night the John McArdle-owned and bred gelding gave his rivals a pacing lesson.

Trainer-driver Ken Austin used him up early to fond the front from a wide draw but once in the lead he cruised around in third gear before slipping into overdrive on the home turn.

Hugh Bromac careered away from his rivals in the straight to score by 14-1/4 metres from Ultimate Heir with Luckywomans a half-head astern.

It was his third win from six starts this season and his owner-breeder believes he has the ability to go all the way.

Hugh Bromac began his career in Victoria but a back problem forced McArdle to bring him home and nurse him back to health.
