NIGHT Racing returns to The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston for what should be a superb nine-race program.
Only eight races were programmed but 28 horses were nominated for the 3YO and upward 1200-metre maiden which was subsequently divided.
The meeting will boast a live hosting on Sky Racing World that consists of pre and post-race interviews with trainers and riders along with in-depth mounting yard reports throughout the meeting.
The meeting also will be broadcast into TAB and TOTE outlets, clubs and pubs nationwide on Sky 2.
One of the most interesting races on the card will be the open handicap over 1600 metres in which Zellarcy will be attempting to win his third race in succession on the StrathAyr surface.
But he will be up against one of Tasmania’s best sprinter-milers in Conquering who returns to the scene where he created history by winning the most number of weight-for-age races in succession when he took out the George Adams Plate (1600m) in 2009.
Conquering will be facing the starter for the third time this preparation and he again carries an enormous weight (65kg) but his trainer Charlie Goggin is adamant the eight-year-old will make his presence felt at the business end of proceedings.
