TASMANIAN Racing’s first meeting covered internationally has been hailed a huge success.
Last Sunday’s thoroughbred meeting from Launceston was beamed into Singapore along with parade ring and mounting yard reports from host Peter Staples as well as late mail and pre-race interviews with trainers.
The live host package that was only thrust on Tasracing only last Thursday afternoon, delivered a professional product that encouraged punters in Singapore to invest just over $600,000 through Singapore’s Telebet wagering system on the last six races (3-8).
The first three trainer interviews that went to air produced three winners – Ruff ‘N’ Tuff (Barry Baker), Second Dozen (John Blacker) and Trustey (Charlie Goggin).
Sky Channel then asked for post-race interviews which were provided and gave Tasmanian racing additional coverage into the Asian market.
All the vision was aimed at Singapore only and was not aired by Sky for the domestic market.
Tasmania is now better positioned to export product overseas.
