Big Moose is one of Tasmania’s most iconic chasers and was inducted into the Tasmanian Greyhound Racing Hall of Fame in 2014. The ‘Boss’, as he was affectionately known won a staggering 50 career races from just 86 starts.
Big Moose
With a fast win in Devonport at just his second race start, he headed to Launceston and started odds-on in a field that contained future star, Damascus Road. He overcame a tricky draw to record the fastest time of the night in what would be his first of 23 wins on the track.
After taking out the Gold Collar final defeating China Town Lad, he drew the pink in the Group 2 Launceston Cup for 2008 and was beaten by his brother, Akka Boy after finding trouble at the first turn. A year later he backed up from the same draw and produced a brilliant performance to cross over and dash clear to win in a race record, 29.57.
