TOP Tasmanian jockey Brendon McCoull should be fit to ride at next week’s Tasmanian Oaks-Vamos Stakes meeting despite suffering an arm injury at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston last night.
McCoull parted company with the Bill Ryan-trained Liluka Belle in the opening race on the eight-event card that sent him cart-wheeling across the turf.
He was taken to hospital for X-rays of his right arm and they revealed no breaks.
“All I have is soft tissue damage around my right elbow area and other than being in a fair bit of pain today I got off pretty light,” McCoull said.
“Normally I would have expected to be sore in the body after a fall like that but thankfully the only area that has been affected is my right elbow.”
“I fully expect to be free to ride in Launceston next Wednesday night,” he said.
