Just Dance Baby all the way

JUST DANCE BABY proved he has fully recovered from a back muscle injury when he led all the way to comfortably win a C1 over 2090 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last night.

The Doug Nettlefold-trained five-year-old gelding suffered torn back muscles during a race in Launceston in July last year and it took months of remedial treatment to rectify the problem.

The gelding returned to racing with a win in Hobart early last month and he followed up with a game second two weeks later before having his colours lowered for a seventh of 10 beaten over 18 metres in the Harry Holgate Memorial final in Launceston two weeks ago.

But with a front row draw (3) and his driver keen to make the most of the most of it Just Dance Baby zoomed to the front and was never headed on his way to a comfortable win over Luke Thomas with Why Take Me and Guerrero dead-heating for third.

It was Just Dance Baby’s sixth career win from 41 starts but he also has accumulated 15 minor placings for stake earnings of almost $40,000.
