SEVEN Mile Beach trainer Michael Voss made the most of the trip to Launceston tonight (Wednesday) with his two runners merging triumphant in the first two races on the seven-event card.
His consistent four-year-old Serpents View scored an impressive win in the Felicity Moss Benchmark 62 Handicap over 1620 metres with David Pires on board.
In the following race in-form apprentice Sigrid Carr guided the consistent Nitro Qui to an all-the-way win in the Karen Robson 3YO and Upwards Maiden Plate over 1420 metres.
Nitro Qui had finished second at his two previous outings and was overdue for a win as was the case with Serpents View that had a placing and a fourth going into tonight’s event.
“Serpents View was very unlucky at his previous start but tonight’s win made up for that and the start before when he was a very game second after having t do a lot of work early,” Voss said.
Nitro Qui also has been racing really without getting the best result but tonight he enjoyed a good run in front and Siggy (Carr) rated him well,” the trainer said.
