Leading trainer Anthony Bullock is always well represented at Tasmanian greyhound race meetings and again that is the case Monday night in Launceston, in particular in the two invitation races.
The first invitation race is the sixth race over 278 metres where Bullock has four of the eight runners.
Lily Lola has drawn box one and goes into the race off a last start win over Tah Nora on 7 September in Launceston where she ran 15.97s for the 278 metres from box eight and the trainer is extremely confident of a forward showing.
“She should win, the two, three and four like to get up the track, the seven likes the fence so she should have a bit of room to hold the front,” said Bullock about the Sulzanti – Break Even bitch who is the winner of 23 races.
Tah Matt (box three) is also from the Bullock kennel and will be chasing a hat-trick of wins after winning his last two outings in Hobart, the most recent on Thursday where he covered the 340 meters in 19.59s.
Lucky Jemma (box four), a Launceston winner four starts ago and Dewana Macca (box six), have recorded three of his four wins over the track and distance, they will both go around with the Bullock polish applied and are at each-way odds in early markets.
The Crown Lager – Australia’s Best Invitation is race eight on the card over the 515-metre journey where Bullock prepares three of the seven runners, with Devil’s Corner from box one the best of his trio.
“He was a bit unlucky not to have finished closer in Hobart last start when he and Rusty The Crow both went for the same run,” said the Exeter based trainer.
“As long as he gets a bit of room through the first turn he should nearly win as the rest like to stay off,” Bullock said.
Outlaw Teddy (box three) is another Bullock prepared runner in the race and goes into the event off a 2.25 length win over Wynburn Lethal in Devonport on Tuesday in 25.67s for the 452 metres, while kennel mate Definite Signs has drawn wide in box seven and finished some 8.25 lengths behind Outlaw Teddy last start.
Bullock rates the best of his remaining chances as He’s A Minstrel in race four from box four.
The former Queensland chaser has won eight of his 28 starts with nine placings to his credit.
“He is having his first run in the state and trialled well enough to win,” said the trainer about the Fernando Bale – Oh So Sweet dog whose last win was at Ipswich on 4 August when running 30.94s for 520 metres.
Monday’s Launceston card commences at the slightly later time of 19:40.
