The night racing season commences Saturday in Launceston with an eight-race program starting at 18:25.
Rolling off the back of a day of Group 1 racing around the country, there should be plenty of eyes on the Ladbrokes Racing Centre for the second meeting on the grass after a stretch of racing on the Devonport synthetic.
As it did in Hobart on Sunday, rain will likely play a part, though the forecast isn’t too bad for Saturday itself. Heavy rain on Thursday and Friday is likely to see the races run on at least a soft track and the rail is out 9m from the 1200m to the winning post which will ensure fresh ground for the next meeting on Wednesday night.
